Sound Wave Recording Studio
Sound Wave Recording is a well equipped studio, capable of tracking, overdubbing,
and mixing your project from beginning to end.
Located near Nashville's famed Loveless Cafe, Sound Wave is a great choice for major and independent label CD projects, as well as, demos and music for film and TV.
The studio features a comfortable, home-like recording setting with large picture windows overlooking a pristine 10-acre forest.
As a result, privacy is a prime feature of this facility and location. Sound Wave boasts an extensive collection of equipment, providing that classic tube sound and the certitude of modern solid-state gear for all studio sessions.
Microphones include AKG, Neumann, Schoeps, B&K, Audio-Technica, Shure, Electrovoice, and Microtech-Geffell. Our hand picked microphone collection rivals that of many larger high-end facilities.
Other high-end studio gear found rarely in a mid-priced studio including Neve, Massenburg, Demeter, TLA, and Studio Technologies mic preamps are used, per your preference, either direct to tape, digital recorder or Digital Audio Workstation. Our Sound Craft console is only used for headphone mixes and “analog sound” during mixing in the same way the largest and most expensive studios track their sessions.
Analog and Digital recording are both available. Our 2-inch 24-track MCI machine is popular choice for many modern bands and artists who seek the warmth that analog provides. For those seeking high-resolution digital audio recording we handle your needs with our HD-24 and the Nuendo Digital Audio Workstation running on a custom built Pentium D computer. And for those moments when your performance isn't perfect, vocal tuning is available.
Mixing to analog tape often brings a warmth and fullness to digital recordings that is not achieved in any other way. At Sound Wave, mixdown is done by golden-eared engineer Rich Adler to either to 1/2 inch analog tape or the industry Masterlink high-resolution digital recorder.
